Chromotherapy
                         
Chromotherapy, also referred to as Color Therapy,
uses color to trigger psychological response through
subtle means.  This powerful, yet relaxing and
unique therapy balances the emotions and adjusts
your mentality by simply exposing the body to
different colors and hues for specific amounts of
time, usually about 30 to 60 minutes per day. Each
color emits a measurable frequency and can be
administered using several methods.  Such methods
include light therapy, color therapy eye wear, or the
use of colored cloths.  At the Gallery of Health, we
offer color therapy
using Color Therapy Eye wear. Despite which method your
therapist chooses to use, each are just as effective and relaxing
as the others.

*Color Therapy Eye wear works directly through the eyes.  
Color enters the eyes through the lens and is sent to receptors
in the retina.  These receptors send the color frequencies
through the optic nerve, to the brain and pineal glands where
it is converted into signals sent out through the nervous
system into endocrine signals. The pineal gland regulates the
production and excretion of melatonin which is the primary
force behind regulating the waking/sleeping cycles and the
endocrine system as a whole is responsible for regulating
mood.  Thus, the different wave lengths produced by colors
have different effects on psychological and physical functions.

enhance the impact of that color on the body.

RED:  ENERGY, POWER, COURAGE, SELF CONFIDENCE
The stimulating color red can help provide the energy we need to take
care of those things in life that provide us with security.

ORANGE:  SOCIABILITY, CREATIVITY, HAPPINESS.
The warming color orange helps encourage free expression of
enjoyment.  It also helps
us release negative thought patterns.

YELLOW:  HEALTH, CHEERFULNESS, MENTAL CLARITY
Helps give us the courage to let go of negative views we may hold
about ourselves. This color influences our digestive system.

GREEN:  HARMONY, HEALING,PEACE, LOVE
Exposure to the color green often has a calming effect that allows us
to be more open to a positive experience.  It provides us with a sense
of unconditional love for ourselves and others.  Green helps us let go
of resentment and allows us to be more forgiving. Green is a color
that leaves us feeling emotionally cleansed.

BLUE: SENSITIVITY, LOYALTY, INTEGRITY, COMMUNICATION.
Blue allows us to gain confidence when speaking and makes our ideas
heard more
readily. Exposure to blue helps us better perceive and
express the truth and expand
our ability of personal expression.  Blue
can help us to develop flowing and easy
expression.







INDIGO: INTUITION, MEDITATION, AWARENESS, PERCEPTION
Indigo can help us achieve the clarity needed to let go of ideas that
prevent us from
perceiving accurately and increases our intuition.  It
is a serene color which helps provide the stillness we need in order to
access the meditative states and the subtleties  that allow us to expand
our life experience.

TURQUOISE: PURIFYING, CALMING
Combining the properties of green and blue, turquoise is both
purifying and calming.  It can be beneficial to the immune system
and enhances concentration, communication and confidence. This
color has also been used to heighten creativity and sensitivity.

MAGENTA: SPIRITUALITY, MEDITATION, LETTING GO
Magenta is useful for attracting something or someone, speeding up a
process, and
providing extra power or energy.  Whenever you need immediate
action and/or great
spiritual power- magenta is the color to use.
